Title: Credit Research Analyst

Firm: $9bn Multi-Strat AIA

Location: NYC (on-site)



Role Responsibilities:

The Credit Research Analyst will work with the investment team focused on multi-faceted opportunistic credit program. The analyst will spend the plurality of their time doing investment diligence for direct investing, co-investing, and secondaries.


  • Source and analyze a broad range of credit investments.
  • Principal focus on corporate credit, including BSL, high yield and private loans, but also opportunities to work on CLO, structured credit and CRE bridge lending activities
  • Consolidate due diligence findings to provide detailed overviews, discuss merits and/or weaknesses of potential investments, and other relevant conclusions
  • Participate in calls and meetings with sourcing partners, management teams, industry experts and other buy-side and sell-side professionals.
  • Conduct independent valuation and industry analyses
  • Create and maintain detailed financial models
  • Maintain a skeptical approach to data interpretation with a focus on independent verification of assumptions
  • Balance fundamental analysis with an appreciation for markets driven guidance, sentiment and indicators when performing research
  • Monitor private credit strategy and sector allocation and diversification
  • Document meetings and circulate notes to investment team and log them in CRM
  • Prepare monthly commentaries and performance attribution summaries to be used by the broader investment team and the marketing team
  • Keep abreast of meaningful market news, corporate security valuation and relevant events to better assess investment strengths and weaknesses
  • Monitor a variety of data sources to detect changes in fundamental and sentiment changes for companies and areas of interest while also identifying potential risks
  • Evaluate data to generate actionable investment theses
  • Provide daily recaps that identify major portfolio movers


Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in the markets and a passion for investing is essential
  • 2-8+ years of credit markets experience at an investment bank, investment management firm or research firm required
  • Prior investment experience in public corporate credit, private credit and / or ABS
  • Strong modeling skills and /or high level of proficiency with Excel
  • High integrity and strong work ethic
  • Ambitious self-starter with highly proactive mentality and ability to anticipate
  • Team player
  • Superior analytical skills and an excellent academic track record
  • A bachelor’s degree with a proven strong academic background
