Job Title: Director of Institutional Sales
Firm: Multi-strategy / opportunistic credit investing alternative investment firm
Location: Anywhere in the US
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategy and process to market the firm’s credit capabilities to institutional investors
- A strong network of key decision makers at institutional investors / family offices with an understanding of the institutional marketing process
- Forecast what the business will look like going forward by analyzing the institutional marketplace to determine best practices for penetrating this market
- Work closely with the firm’s portfolio managers to help manage and cross-sell existing relationships
- Liaise with the investment team to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the product and are able to articulate and communicate the product and investment performance to the marketplace
- Present to prospects alongside portfolio managers in finals presentations
- Willing to travel 80%+ of the time
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with strong academic credentials.
- Ideally 7+ years of experience selling investment products/services (including private credit) to institutional investors; demonstrable track record of consistently closing business
- Must have strong relationships with institutional investors and possess a high level of intellect, credibility and energy
- Understanding of competitive landscape with the ability to position the firm’s products effectively relative to those competitors
