Job Title: Director of Institutional Sales

Firm: Multi-strategy / opportunistic credit investing alternative investment firm

Location: Anywhere in the US


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategy and process to market the firm’s credit capabilities to institutional investors
  • A strong network of key decision makers at institutional investors / family offices with an understanding of the institutional marketing process
  • Forecast what the business will look like going forward by analyzing the institutional marketplace to determine best practices for penetrating this market
  • Work closely with the firm’s portfolio managers to help manage and cross-sell existing relationships
  • Liaise with the investment team to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the product and are able to articulate and communicate the product and investment performance to the marketplace
  • Present to prospects alongside portfolio managers in finals presentations
  • Willing to travel 80%+ of the time


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, with strong academic credentials.
  • Ideally 7+ years of experience selling investment products/services (including private credit) to institutional investors; demonstrable track record of consistently closing business
  • Must have strong relationships with institutional investors and possess a high level of intellect, credibility and energy
  • Understanding of competitive landscape with the ability to position the firm’s products effectively relative to those competitors
