Title: Director of Investment Operations & Analytics

Firm: ~$10bn AIA (multi-strat / credit)

Location: NYC; hybrid work schedule

Compensation: $200-$250k salary + bonus



Role Responsibilities:


Oversight and optimization of all investment operations, data management, investment analytics, and digital transformation initiatives. Act as the primary strategic partner, driving operational excellence, technology integration, and analytic rigor across the investment platform. This role oversees critical linkages between investment, risk, technology, and operations—strengthening the firm's capability to deliver innovative, scalable, and high-quality solutions.


Strategic Leadership

  • Set vision and strategy for all investment operations and analytics across the platform, ensuring alignment with firm-wide business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in investment operations, data, analytics, risk, and technology integration.


Investment Operations Management

  • Oversee the end-to-end investment process, including origination, research, diligence, closing, and ongoing portfolio monitoring and valuation
  • Champion continuous improvements by systematizing processes, eliminating inefficiencies, and standardizing best practices across functions.
  • Ensure operational risk controls and compliance across all data and investment workflows.


Data Governance and Analytics

  • Take ownership of the data governance framework, ensuring quality, accuracy, security, and integrity of investment data.
  • Direct the collection, synthesis, and dissemination of data-driven insights to support investment decision-making and firm strategy.
  • Facilitate interdepartmental collaboration, optimizing data flows and driving cross-functional alignment.


Digital Transformation and Technology

  • Spearhead the evaluation, implementation, and integration of major technology platforms and data systems.
  • Drive a culture of digital transformation, championing the adoption of automation, advanced analytics, and self-service reporting.
  • Partner with technology leaders to recommend and execute major platform upgrades, enhancements, or outsourcing initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure competitive and compliant operational capabilities.


Communication and Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the principal liaison between investment operations, technology, risk, and leadership, bridging knowledge and process gaps.
  • Communicate complex operational, data, and technology issues clearly and persuasively to senior management.
  • Foster a relationship-driven culture, facilitating trust and engagement across business groups, clients, vendors, and regulators.

  • Advanced communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence at the highest levels.
  • Deep appreciation for technology-driven solutions, automation, and innovation.
  • Exceptional conceptual, analytical, planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, and control frameworks.
