Job Title: Investment Analyst / Associate – High Yield Long/Short Credit

Role Overview

The firm is seeking an Investment Analyst / Associate to join a high-performing Long/Short Credit team focused on high yield and opportunistic corporate credit investments.

This role offers direct exposure to the investment process, working closely with a senior Portfolio Manager to generate alpha through fundamental credit analysis, relative value, and catalyst-driven investing. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical rigor with an investor mindset and a passion for credit markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct deep fundamental credit analysis across high yield issuers, including detailed financial modeling and capital structure analysis
  • Generate and pitch long and short investment ideas supported by rigorous research and clear catalysts
  • Monitor existing positions, industry trends, and market developments to inform portfolio decisions
  • Analyze earnings, liquidity profiles, covenants, and downside scenarios to assess risk/reward
  • Track primary and secondary market activity to identify relative value opportunities
  • Partner closely with the Portfolio Manager on portfolio construction, sizing, and risk management
  • Build and maintain sector expertise across industries within high yield and leveraged credit

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in credit investing, leveraged finance, investment banking, or credit research
  • Strong financial modeling and accounting skills with experience analyzing leveraged capital structures
  • Solid understanding of high yield bonds, loans, and credit markets
  • Demonstrated interest in investing, with the ability to think critically and independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate investment views
  • High attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Buy-side experience in long/short credit or event-driven strategies
  • Experience analyzing stressed or distressed situations
  • Track record of investment idea generation (formal or informal)
  • Sector specialization is a plus but not required
